My goals for 2015
Setting goals is hard, and achieving them can be even harder, so I have decided to put some positive pressure on myself (inspired by the The Monk who sold his Ferrari) and share my list of personal goals for 2015.
The last few years have proved challenging, but I’m aiming to make the next few ones to remember (for different reasons), so to push myself, I felt sharing my goals might make it easier for me to achieve them in the long run.
My list
- Get to 10% body fat – This is something I been working to accomplish for a few months now, but I’m still very determined to complete this, and I want to by the end of February next year. Watch this space. Complete – 1 down, 6 to go (27/03/2015)
- Get back on the track – One of the main reasons why I decided to lose some fat and get fit was so that I could get back on the Athletics track and begin competing again next year at a few competitions. This won’t be anything too competitive but having a race again will be fun.
- Take time to meditate – I have been doing a bit of reading on this over the past year into it’s health benefits and I am determined to at least give it a shot this year. I might hate it (I doubt it) but it could be a game changer, but I won’t know until I try.
- Present at a design conference – This doesn’t have to be anything major but public speaking is something that I find rather daunting so talking at an event that I feel I could really contribute to would be a good start to over coming my fear. Complete – Two Birds, 1 Stone (16/12/2015)
- Write for another blog – I have been working on my writing skills so to take them to next level, and write for someone else would be a real treat.
- Take on another physical challenge – I completed a cycle from London to Paris this year which has left me wanting to challenge myself again, so I will be looking for more challenges this year. Complete – Getting muddy (28/09/2015)
- Volunteer for a charity or a worthy cause – A friend of mine was telling me how he volunteers his time in a primary school once a month and I felt it would be something I enjoyed, so this year I will see where I can volunteer my skills and help others. Complete – Two Birds, 1 Stone (16/12/2015)
I’m hoping I can begin to tick these off over the course of the year so expect a couple of updates to the post, and if you have any tips, pointers or advice please leave a comment below, tweet me or email me.
