29 today
The title says it all really. Today is my birthday and I’m 29 years old.
I’ve never really been one for birthdays, in fact I can’t remember the last time I actually did anything major to celebrate one of mine. As I’ve got older it seems the people who I care about most want to make a far greater deal out of it than I do, which is nice I guess.
Anyway my 28th year on plant Earth has been rather eventful, I got married, 5or6 expanded, I started Cake and Switch the Play, and I’m in the middle of buying a new house. So I’ve had fun.
I don’t expect this coming year to be any easier in the run up to the dreaded 30, but fingers crossed it won’t be boring.
I have a few plans in mind for the coming year, firstly I want to improve on this past years fitness effort, and I still have a few more things to tick off on my 2015 goals. However there are also a few other things I want to do which don’t really fit on the “goals for 2015” list.
- I want to get better at promoting myself and 5or6 – We are good at what we do over at 5or6 (which is obviously a good start), but not the greatest at shouting about it. We have the content, we just need to promote it.
- Move Cake forward – After reading Brad Feld’s Start up Communities I feel we have a great opportunity in Loughborough to do something great by bringing some amazing, enthusiastic people together. I have no idea how we are going to do this yet, but I’m sure one of the great people who attends Cake will lead the way.
Anywho, I’ve rambled on enough and I need to go on a run and then head into work to start my 30th year off. Let’s see what I can do.
